 When sending your old regulator/cutout or dynamo for conversion please include the regulators cover and clip along with a covering letter indicating....... 

 1. Your name, telephone number, email and return address details

2. Full details of the works you require

 

For regulator conversions please also inc. the following

 Make and model of your dynamo

It's output in Amps or Watts (if known)

For dynamo conversions please also inc. the following

Direction of rotation as seen from the drive end.

(If not marked on the dynamo or different from that)

Is it positive or negative earth?

Include any drive gear/pulley/nut also.

 

 

We speak to many people every day about conversion work who then go on to send us their regulator and/or dynamo so it is difficult to identify a parcel that is delivered here with nothing but a return address scribbled on a piece of paper.

Remember, the more information you can give us the quicker we can help you.

 

 Please use Parcelforce, UPS, TNT or other secure carrier and pack your parcel well to avoid damage. Always pack a bakelite regulator well away from a dynamo to avoid it being crushed in transit.

A box within a box is always a good idea here.

When sending items for conversion or repair please mark the customs declaration and the parcel

"CLASSIC VEHICLE DYNAMO AND/OR REGULATOR SENT FOR REPAIR BUT REMAINING IN THE OWNERSHIP OF THE CONSIGNOR/SENDER"

NOW THE IMPORTANT BIT.

PLEASE READ & UNDERSTAND BELOW.

IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THIS, PLEASE DO NOT SEND A DYNAMO OR REGULATOR TO US FROM A NON EU COUNTRY

DUE TO CHANGES TO THE WAY UK CUSTOMS WORK WE ARE NOW CHARGED DUTY TO RECEIVE A PARCEL FROM A NON EU COUNTRY.

CUSTOMS WILL HOLD SUCH A PARCEL UNTIL WE PAY THE DUTY ON IT EVEN THOUGH IT IS A TEMPORARY IMPORT.

 THE WAY ROUND THIS PROBLEM FOR US IS TO APPLY FOR AND USE "INWARD PROCESSING RELIEF" WHICH SUSPENDS ANY DUTY AND VAT UNTIL THE UNIT IS REPAIRED AND SENT BACK TO YOU BUT ONLY FOR A SET TIME. 

AS A SMALL COMPANY, WE MUST THEN PROVIDE PROOF OF EXPORT OR DUTY WILL BE CHARGED BY UK CUSTOMS. THIS PROCESS IS NEITHER SIMPLE NOR STRAIGHTFORWARD AND REQUIRES PAPERWORK, EMAIL AND  PHONE CALLS WHICH TAKE UP A LOT OF TIME. TIME IS MONEY. 

THE COST OF THIS TIME FAR OUTWEIGHS THE COST OF THE DUTY PAYABLE AND STOPS US DOING WHAT WE DO BEST!

THE SIMPLE ANSWER IS NOT TO TRADE WITH NON EU COUNTRIES BUT WE UNDERSTAND FULLY THAT OUR KIND OF SERVICE IS NOT AVAILABLE IN YOUR COUNTRY SO WE ARE KEEN TO CONTINUE TRADING WITH NON EU CUSTOMERS.

SO, THE EASIEST WAY AROUND THIS PROBLEM IS FOR US TO  PAY THE DUTY ON YOUR BEHALF AND ADD IT TO YOUR INVOICE ON COMPLETION OF WORKS. ANY ASSOCIATED CUSTOMS PAPERWORK WILL BE SEND BACK TO YOU AS PROOF.

We will mark your return customs label/parcel as "Repaired item returned to owner" and will not be held liable for any customs duty deemed payable by your countries customs officials.

Please note: Regulators are returned to you by Royal Mail. We post on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

We don't ship parcels by carrier on a Friday or during the busy week leading up to Christmas. This ensures that parcels don't go missing or get held up in the system.

All items are sent tracked and insured.

Items cannot be sent until full cleared payment has been received. 

Any item can be taken to any of the shows or jumbles we attend for collection once paid for.

 

Payment for all orders can be by cash, credit or debit card or BACS from a UK bank account

 

Please do not send any payment until a price has been confirmed.

 

Please note :- If you send a converted regulator back to us because you have fitted it and it doesn't appear to work but when we test it, it actually does work, i.e. the problem is found to be that your vehicle wiring is wrong or faulty, you will be liable for return postage costs.
